Mashed Potatoes

1 cup
potatoes peeled and cut into 1.5 inch (4 cm) cubes
6 large (4 lb / 1.8 kg)
milk heated
1 1/3 cups
butter melted
1/4 cup
2 tsp
1/4 tsp


To cook reduced quantities : do not reduce water at all. Pour water into cooker. Put grid in cooker. Place potatoes on grid. Close cooker. Bring to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat and cook for 6 minutes. Remove cooker from heat. Press finger-tip control/lift vent weight lightly to release pressure. Open cooker. Place potatoes in a warmed bowl. Break up potatoes with fork. Beat until smooth (about 1 minute with a heavy duty mixer) or use any of a fork, potato masher, food mill, blender, regular electric mixer. Add remaining ingredients. Continue beating until fluffy. Serve hot immediately.
